Privacy policy

Who is responsible

Watch Order is a personal project by wxlter. For any question about your data, email me at work@wxlter.dev.

What data the app uses

As a guest, your progress, plans and settings are stored only on your device (localStorage) and never sent to a server.

If you sign in with Google, we store your name, email and profile photo (provided by Google), your profiles, what you mark as watched, your plans, achievements, settings and, if you use them, your groups, shared links and your device token for notifications.

What for

Only to make the app work: syncing your progress across devices, showing what's next, sending the notifications you turn on and building the links and groups you create. We don't sell your data or use it to profile you.

Third-party services

Google Firebase (sign-in, database and push notifications), Vercel (hosting; temporarily logs IP addresses) and TMDB (catalog, synopses and posters: your browser requests images directly from image.tmdb.org, and "where to watch" uses JustWatch data via TMDB).

If ads are enabled, Google AdSense may use cookies or identifiers to serve them, only if you accept in the consent notice. You can change your choice below at any time.

If usage measurement is on, Google Analytics 4 counts page views and actions (for example, following a franchise or marking a title as watched) using Google cookies, only if you accept in the consent notice. We do not send your account, your email or the detail of your progress, and we do not use Google signals or ad personalization. If you reject or withdraw it, nothing is loaded or sent.

Error logging

If the app fails, it sends our server the error message, the page (without parameters) and the browser. It doesn't include your account or your progress.

Legal basis and transfers

We process your data because you need it to use your account (performance of the service), because you give us permission (push notifications, ads) and because of our legitimate interest in keeping the app secure and working (error logging). The providers above may process data in the United States and other countries, under their own contractual safeguards.

How long

While you have an account. Signing out clears the device's local cache. Deleting a profile removes its progress. Error and access logs stay on Vercel for as long as that service keeps them (days, not months).

Your rights

You can export your progress (Account → Backup) and delete your account with all your data (Account → Delete account). You can also ask for access or correction by writing to me. If you're in the EU/UK, you can complain to your data protection authority.

Children

The app isn't directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, this page and its date are updated.
